Sardi's Den - Clemson

This used to be one of my favorite hidden gems, but it has definitely declined. The hand-breaded tenders taste like they came straight from the freezer, and the mushrooms are simply pre-made and frozen. The mild wing sauce was essentially just grease. If the terrible food wasn’t enough, the restaurant has a moldy smell and even roaches. The pictures tell the story.

In my opinion, this place serves the best ribs and barbecue in the Clemson area. I've lived here for over 30 years and have tried most of the restaurants in town.

This charming little restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by its friendly staff. Unfortunately, our food was served cold during our lunch visit, which was quite unexpected as we anticipated fresh and hot meals. When we brought this to the waitress's attention, she offered a sincere apology. We opted to take our meals to go instead and left. Later that evening, once we reheated the food, we were pleased to find it incredibly tasty! I’ve given the restaurant a 3-star rating mainly due to the initial issue with the cold food.

I stopped by after work at 9:30 PM, just 30 minutes before closing. When I entered, the waitress informed me that they were already closed. I pointed out their listed hours, but she explained that it depends on the volume of customers. She didn't seem apologetic at all, which was disappointing. It's unfortunate because restaurants should always respect their posted hours! I'm not sure if I'll return.

I updated my review because this place has really improved since my last visit. The waitress was much friendlier, and all of our food arrived promptly and tasted great.
