We came here for breakfast one day to celebrate my coworker's birthday, and it was nice! We were seated in the covered patio area which was cute, there was a little bit of a yellow tint to everything because of the covering so that's why the pics look the way they do.Our server was really nice, she recommended dishes to us (one of my coworkers and I elected to both get the special steak and eggs), and also replaced my mimosa when a little fly/bug fell into it. The little blueberry muffins they brought out in the beginning were buttery, and even though I thought the steak was a little over cooked, it still tasted good! My other coworker said the omelet he got was decent, also I tried the grits he ordered and thought it was really well made. At the end they brought out a small little birthday cheesecake which was a nice touch!
Such a classic piece of Atlanta dining. We had a great time and the Brisket is fantastic. Jessica was a delight, as well. Thanks again.
Look, I get it... in the months after the crush of COVID staffing a restaurant is difficult, particularly on a Saturday night. but I gotta say I was roundly disappointed this visit when Murphy 's is usually stellar.service was slow and a bit disjointed, and as someone who worked foodservice I can see in the weeds when it 's happening. the dish I ordered was the asian chicken salad, which I wanted because I was looking for something on the lighter side. the dish was off on almost all points: WAY too much dressing (which itself bore no flavor-relation to Asian cuisine, like at all) with a chicken breast sliced on the side. I couldn 't tell how it was cooked but it had barely any flavor.when I brought it to our server 's attention she just shrugged and walked away. I want the kitchen to succeed so I hope she brought it to the chef 's attention.on the bright side, Murphy 's ambiance is always amazing, cozy and welcoming. I just wish my food matched it.
In the ever popular Virginia Highlands area where parking always a challenge. We went late afternoon and place quiet and on site parking available. Trout great and Guinness beef very soft( (suis vide) strong beer from Alexandre Va and wide wine selection. Good service and very clean looking place. Famous for brunch but lunch good too.
