Had the Bulgolgi Cup Bop with a side of Kimchee (which wasn't on the menu, you have to ask for it). Everything was delicious. Good atmosphere if a little plain. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing fried chicken!! The sauce was great also. Loved the snow fries, a must try!! The best fried chicken I've had, cooked to perfection with great flavor!!
This restaurant is so charming! The wings are incredible, particularly the honey butter and soy garlic flavors. The fries are perfectly crispy and golden. I'm so glad I discovered this spot! You definitely need to check it out!
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly. Since it was my first visit, I took a moment to look over the menu and was asked if I had any questions. The wings caught my eye, so I inquired about the different flavors, especially the snow cheese! After some helpful suggestions, I ordered 20 wings: honey butter, soy garlic, and spicy chili, along with a side of snow cheese fries and a bulgogi cupbop (and no, this wasn't all for me, haha). Since they cook everything fresh, be prepared to wait about 15-20 minutes. When I returned, they introduced me to the palate cleansers—a house-made pickled radish and slaw mix—which I was eager to try. Now, onto the taste: once I got home, I couldn't believe how delicious everything was! The wings were the perfect size—crispy, not soggy—and each flavor was packed with taste, with the chili being my favorite. The snow cheese fries were absolutely addictive, and the bulgogi cupbop was stuffed full with bulgogi, two fried dumplings, zucchini, carrots, and what I believe was sweet potato, all served over rice. I definitely need to order that again! Overall, if you're hesitant about trying this place, don’t be! Small businesses rely on our support, and this one is truly a gem in Clarksville. I wouldn’t steer you wrong on Yelp!
She kindly went over the menu with me, and I was especially interested in the GOP Chang Jeongol, a beef tendon soup, along with fish cakes. She mentioned that the fried chicken was the most popular item on the menu. The tendon soup, on the other hand, was infrequently ordered and typically enjoyed by a specific group of customers. For my takeout, I decided on spicy and soy garlic wings. The server informed me that these came with pickled radish and cabbage, which sounded perfect. My order of ten wings, along with the pickled radish and cabbage, was just $13.13. I was impressed by the generous portion and size of the wings—definitely a step up from the usual gas station variety. They were crispy and delicious, with the spicy wings being my favorite. Upon finishing my Chimaek takeout, I mused that these chicken wings are just how I like my friends and dates: fast, cheap, easy… and with a spicy touch of refined elegance. The pickled radish added a lovely flair to the dish. I wished I had ordered more, as I absolutely love pickled radish. I chopped up the chicken wings and mixed them with a bed of rice, along with the pickled radish and cabbage. I spruced it up with some ponzu sauce, a bit of yum sauce, and sour cream, then topped it off with smashed spicy chicharrones for a delicate crunch. Perfect! I’m giving this place a full five stars. So far, Chimaek has become my favorite Korean restaurant in the area, proving that delicious food can indeed be fast, affordable, and easy.
