So I'm going to the car wash which is about a mile down the road from this circle k. I had remembered that I only have $20.00 bills and the car wash only takes up to $5.00 bills. So what I figured I would do was, stop by the Circle K on Lafayette, and purchase a nice cold fountain Dr. Pepper. So I walk in, walk towards the fountain machines, and saw that they were both.... Out of order. Well I'm particular about my sodas. I'm not about to buy one in a plastic bottle... Or one in a can. I like fountain drinks that's what I drink. So here comes the wow factor. I walk up to the register, and the manager is there with another customer at self checkout and she stops her conversation that she was having with the other customer and looks at me as if to say can I help you. So I've known this manager for a while now. She had been gone for a couple years and just came back. So I said to her, since your fountain machine is down, can I just get changed from you. Her response was this. You just want change? I said yes. She said, I can't give you change, you have to buy something and then I can give you change. And my response was as I was walking towards the exit was, I have been purchasing things for the last 5 years here. I was in utter disbelief to say the least. That is nonsense. And to make sure she did it in front of another customer really showed a lack of professionalism. Now, if I was that other customer, I would have let her know how rude she was by interrupting me to tell another customer that she couldn't make change for them. The fact of the matter is there's another circle K that's only probably 2 mi away. I got in my truck and I drove there. Where the fountain machines worked, and the very nice employee had no problem giving me change. Because, I have rewards with circle K and my fountain drink was free. So that's why I'm saying it's such a wow factor. Since when do businesses that are a mile down the road from a car wash not give you change when you've been a consistent, considerate, polite customer for at least 5 years. And one more complaint. I'm sure it's not legal, that is if the health department came in to the store. But I'm pretty sure public restrooms are required to have soap dispensers. I don't know if I'm correct about that but I might look into it. Seeing how, they were too busy to take care of a 5-year consistent customer for something as little as a 10 and two fives. I don't know if anybody that reads this can relate to what I'm saying. But I was just in utter disbelief. Never in my 53 years have I ever been turned down from a place that I go to all the time, for change. I will not be shopping at this circle K again seeing how there's one right around the corner that doesn't have a problem making change for a customer that isn't a regular. I will be now thank you Dover road circle K.
