Drove from Peterborough just to try it out. Was not disappointed. Navajo taco was very tasty.
Anishinaabe Shack is a food truck located in Orono, off the 115 highway beside the Petro-Canada gas station (Popeye's and McDonalds at the same Concession Road 3 exit). While they have the usual burgers, hot dogs and fries; the reason you need to go here is to try the Navajo Taco! It starts with a deep fried bread (sometimes called Bannock or Indian Fry Bread), then covered in your favourite taco ingredients. It is spectacular! You can also get a hot dog wrapped in the fry bread, again with what ingredients you like. They also have a dessert version with butter, honey and cinnamon sugar.Very friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended!
Incredible food! Portion is huge...$10 for a Navajo taco. The dessert Bannock was incredible. It is covered in butter, honey, and cinnamon sugar.I wanted to update my review as Google took us to the wrong location. This food truck is not located at the Petro-Canada gas station with the tim Hortons in the parking lot. If this is the location your maps takes you to, then it is incorrect. Stay on the 115 for another 8-10 minutes and you will see a McDonald's and Popeyes chicken on the Eastbound side, get off at Concession Rd 3 and it will be in THAT Petro-Canada parking lot.I have requested an update to the location but nothing has changed as of yet.
Had the Navajo taco today. First time have Bannock and now I wanna try the dessert version. The taco was really good.
