The Upper House - Claremont

This is seriously the only Chinese restaurant I care to dine at. It's a small hole in the wall in a shopping center, but the food is so incredibly fresh and flavorful. We've tried a quite a few dishes but my favorite is the fish with black bean sauce and anything Kung Pao. The only thing I didn't care for was the walnut shrimp, it wasn't bad but I had assumed the shrimp was no deep fried. Friendly staff, clean and reasonably priced.

A good variety of traditional Chinese food along with menu options familiar to the locals. Had the corn soup which came in a bowl sharable for four, it was creamy and hearty. Also had the Taiwanese style rice noodle stir fry which was well flavored and had a good mix of protein and veggies. So had the tender pork with bean curd and the veggies in the dish were crisp and gave the dish a nice texture. The service was quick and friendly. Will be back for sure.

This restaurant is a wonderful addition to this mini-mall in claremont. The food is great, price is excellent and service is impeccable

Best Kung Pao Chicken ever! Nice bites and cracks. Fresh ingredients. Also the veggie egg rolls were good. I will definitely try other items on the menu again.
