Stappo Wine Bistrot - CIVITA CASTELLANA

We visited here 4 times over 2 weeks. a nice cozy bar it is not big, only several tables with some tables outside during the good weather (we were there in winter!). it is located near the main square (parking available). a charming old kieselsteinstraße. the hosts are very friendly and very helpful in choosing from a large collection of excellent local and Italian weeping and beating. we always started with a local prosecco or spumante and followed by a fine red wine recommended by the host. snacks and sharing plates are free or too low cost and the wee through the glass are very reasonable 3, 4 or 5 euro for a good wein! on a Saturday was the place full, including the outside. on a week night it is very quiet and a great place for a romantic drinker. they also play excellent jazz music on the sound system. there are several good restaurants nearby to continue the gourmet trip. great. highly recommended!

Dear hostess irene! delicious apperitivos and vino! would definitely recommend to stop in this big little place! €3 for a glass wine and delicious local cheese and meat.

This bar is a great place to see the world over. it is located in a small paved road, directly on the main piazza of civita castellana, and in the summer it has tables outside where they sit in the shadow and enjoy a beer... while enjoying street life. it is guided by a very pleasant and friendly guy who is always outside of serving, and it seems to attract mainly 3040 some couples / friends. it sells beer of birra dei borgias one of the cities two local craft beerbauer (the other, birrrificio itineris, has its own bar at the periphery of the city, but bdb is the better tasting option, seccondo me). there is a series of about 5 bottles beer, with the golden ale (the best!) also on design. there was also a decent wine list (although less sort than I would have wished to give the name of the bar), but I stayed on the beer and worked my way through the bottle options. Note that tbis s bit can be expensive, as the bottles range from 4.5€5.5€, so the wee is a cheaper option if they plan to stay for a few drinks. on our first visit we had the carpaccio of smoked Angus beef to accompany our drinks, which was very tasty, highly marbled meat, easily perfumed with a smokey aroma and cut beautiful and thin in-house. at my second visit we shared the formaggi salumi plate for a person it was a good amount, quite enough to share for two as a guide to our drinks, and it had a nice mix of meats that stand out a fennel infused pancetta from nepi (a nearby town). this was very tasteful, I usually strip the fat away from Italian cured meat like prosciutto etc. but in this case the fat was so melty tasty from the fennel it had absorbed that I torn all the ding. I don't know how they get so much taste from fennel to meat, I guess they have to pack it tightly with fennel (seeds)? for a long time as it is really intensive. very well recombined. also the cheeses were good, the local products again, although I would have preferred 4 different types of cheese to the different pieces of the two we got. it is a small bar in the inner, a few tables and a few stools at the theke, but if they can grab a table on the street, they will have a very pleasant time to try the beer, wee and nibble on the offer. it is also right next to the restaurant i butteri (which also has tables on the road) so it is a good place for dinner drinks when they later became a large group of friends, of whom I recognized as owner of the nearby il vizio bar only that on Monday night we were there... always a good sign when neighboring bars worked together at their night out of accomodate!
