My wife and I, down from Toronto, found the place on a Google map. Never had Haitian food before. A small spot, simple,. very clean. It was very friendly and welcoming. You wait a bit, but patience pays off, as the food is served very fresh and tasty. The portions are really big. We had the mushroom and bean rice, the curried chicken, very nice, the fried pork, and lots of vegetables. And the soup is delicious. Be prepared for spice, and lively Haitian music.
Update March 2020 : THEY ONLY COOK GOOD FOOD IF THEY IN A GOOD MOOD? Prices have gone up by $1. My last two visits were also horrible. I got fried chicken once and curry chicken the other. Usually, the chef does the curry without any hot sauce, but I have no idea why there was so much red sauce this time in chicken curry. Fried chicken was just not edible, straight up hard as rock, felt like fried chicken left out for hours. If you don?t have fresh food, stop selling leftout food re-warmed. (the photos are fried chicken) OLD REVIEW : The chicken curry was awesome! Plus, it?s good portions and decently priced! $6.48 for chicken curry with fried rice, which is actually good? lets gooo!
Really good portions are generous and well made. Fried fish was perfect and not oily at all. The fried plantains are great but do better with some manner of sauce or addition, I think. We will definitely be back and do our best to go through the whole menu.
