50 West Bistro - City of Red Deer

This is a reasonably new restaurant in downtown. THey have all the components of a great restaurant, and We were very pleased with our first and second visit. The Decor was modern, and well planned. The food was really great. We enjoyed the Duck Framboise, and the Braised Pork Belly, Both very impressive. The service was the best i have experienced in many years. Our Server was very knowledgable about wine pairing, and food choices. He Steered us into a great experience. It is worth noting that this restaurant has a very good wine list of about 75 wines. We eat out a lot, and were very impressed with this place. Its small, only seats about 50 people, so reservations are likely important. Im sure this place will be very successful. Highly recommended.

Called twice. no answer. left message on machine for a reservation then went on to see and reserved a table for two. parking was 1 1/2 blocks away to find out that it was closed during the open hours of 18:00 Saturday 22 October. . - yes. should be communicated to customers on the website and/or answer machine, it was closed. we have always heard good things about eating. I give him another chance.

My dissatisfaction with my experience in 50 west comes from two main areas. the one who did not harass me so much was the ambiente (or lack of it). I can't be particularly picky about the ambiente in view of the other restaurants in red deer, but I was disappointed about the physical experience of eating in 50 west with the eating and style they try to present their clientele. the second point I am unfortunately attached to is the price. to the luck had my date and I had a gift card that helped with the majority of the cost of our meal. However, when I evaluated the cost of our meal and the meal itself, I could not help to see a disparity. the total costs of our meal have beaten over the true quality of the taste and presentation of our dishes. For these reasons, I would not recommend 50 western ones, as there are plenty of options (yes, even in red deer) that exceed this restaurant in value and the entire culinary experience.

So not impressed. my nudeby and I went for the first time in months on a date and the portions were pathetic small, the price was far too high, the smells were missing, the waiting time for eating seemed like an eternality and our meal times were overcooked and dry. the only thing that was good was the service and the drinks I will never be again

Steak was not the best. not drink wine, but the beer selection was good.
