Tenzan - City of New York

Great sushi spot, my friend had a spicy salmon roll and philadelphia roll, I had a salmon roll and avocado mango roll.

First time having Japanese rolls and it was really good. I ordered the shrimp cucumber and avocado peanut. I also tried the Shumai (shrimp dumplings) and steamed mix vegetables appetizer which was delicious. Ate them so fast, I couldn't get a pic. Lol. The service was attentive and friendly. Great vibe and good prices. Definitely worth the trip and money spent. I look forward to returning soon.

Lunch plate for $13 includes 3 rolls (6 pcs each) and Miso soup or salad. That’s a great deal! Sushi quality was excellent. My girlfriend and I both loved the Avocado Peanut roll. Would order again on a return visit. Tokyo King roll was very good as well, but probably would try something different next time. Loved the interior! Only downside here was the service. The wait staff was sort of inattentive. We felt it took longer than it should have for our rolls to come out. Also our check sat on the table for about 15 minutes before our server came to ring us up. We were itching to get out at that point. Ultimately, I would recommend Tenzan to a friend.

From appetizer to dessert, Tenzan was an accidental find while looking for another non- sushi eatery, but it has become a family favorite. They serve a good variety of maki rolls. My kids tend to go for the bentos for lunch, which comes with salad, miso soup, rice, one main, shumei, haru maki and a California roll (which is a lot since it comes with two appetizers already). Favorites like teriyaki and katsu are available, but stepping outside your comfort zone is something I highly recommended here. The dessert menu is small, but everything on it will become a solid favorite. For the over 21 crowd, alcohol is served here.

One of the best sushi restaurants in NYC in my opinion. Always fresh, even their delivery is awesome. Sushi is best when eaten right after it is made, so go chill on NYC's UWS and enjoy. Hand rolls are my favorite, their bento boxes for lunch are a great deal.
