Patisserie Claude - City of New York

I have ordered from Patisserie Claude several times over the past few years and was generally pleased with my experiences, but I was taken aback by the quality of my most recent delivery a few days ago. The Napoleons I received were FROZEN and still only partially thawed! As they thawed, the pastry cream began to separate and turned grainy. Additionally, the pain au chocolats and croissants were the worst I've ever had from any bakery. The croissants were completely misshapen, as if the person who made them had no idea what a proper croissant should look like. While they were heavy with butter, they lacked the necessary flakiness. They ended up being as heavy as lead and simply inedible. The same issue persisted with the pain au chocolats. I called to complain about the Napoleons and was offered a complimentary redelivery of them the next day. However, I chose not to accept it, as any bakery capable of delivering what I received before is one I cannot trust again.

This is one of the most incredible patisseries I’ve ever visited! From the delightful quiches to the amazing croissants and pain au chocolat, and the delicious tarts and Napoleons, this place has something for every mood! There's also a unique energy here that's hard to describe—I’ve become a lifelong regular!

I sampled several dishes, and the apricot tart is absolutely amazing! It's a small, unpretentious spot, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Decent but you can do better in NYC for pastries. More like 3.5 stars. Small selection and the pastries were just fine

This is a small gem hidden in the city. My steady to go are the Almond Croissant, Quiche and their Chocolate Opera Cake. Always fresh and perfectly made. Assorted cookies are for special occasions.Everything on this place is delicious the real problem is decide what to go for ?
