The traditional leather lamps on the walls are dried out and broken, the old decorations are gone, and the plates are now cheap white ceramic instead of the luxurious terracotta we remember. The food is basic, with watery tagines and small portion sizes for both starters and main dishes. There is a lack of quality wine options by the glass. The vanilla ice cream that my children ordered was low quality, resembling something from a cheap supermarket. Overall, our experience was disappointing given the £40 cost per person.
If you were strolling up Baker Street, you might not even notice this restaurant. It was quite calm on a Wednesday evening in January, which meant the atmosphere was a bit lacking – but that was perfect for us. The waitress gave us her full attention and was very accommodating. All of us loved our food (some delicious tagines and salads) with large portions. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert!
The food was incredibly enjoyable, delicious, and fresh. The service was excellent. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant.
This was our third or fourth visit and we had invited friends, making a party of 6. The others hadn't been there before but were impressed. The food was delicious and served very hot, as usual. I had the lamb with caramelised pear which was very good. The service was friendly and efficient. We will be back!
Very friendly service, great tagines (as you'd hope). Good cheaper option in Marylebone
