With my parents (in the 80s) and my partner. no front, a tiny door, they need to get the bell that I thought was nice, a very beautiful lady (can be called Mary, took our moms and leads us to the table. They called me with my first name that I thought was beautiful (not sharp on the name madam), we had our own room in the restaurant, hidden like abigails party' (70s decor), it was delightful. cocktails and eating were first class, the staff is very informatiw and can not do enough for them.
We were taken here by an iondoner and it turned out to be one of the culinary highlights of our journey. an unforeseen door leads into a tiny slim and a staircase to cave in the cellar. a fixed price menu (with possible supplements) includes a...glass of champs at the arrival. portions are modest, but eating is wonderful, original and interesting. you don't let a starving. service is good, but not superlatiw.
Hallo I was there with my friend, eating was excellent, service was perfect, atmosphere super! desserts mmmmmmm masterpiece! I am very happy that my girl loves me more after eating;
Don’t know who Owen is but he can’t spell. Celebrations began with patchwork service of cold hot starters, raw scallops and yesterday's bread. We reminded Owen's amnesia'd partner in crime about the order of service and were served with belated cold pea puree shots which...quite frankly were less amuse-bouche and more horror-bouche. Mains arrived after nearly an hour in a totally random fashion, most of which were also cold and underdone. I received mine last when everyone had finished. Being the birthday person I was obviously delighted to have extra attention on me as I ate my main while everyone watched having finished 20 minutes beforehand -An excellent touch, particularly with the lack of explanation and charming indifference of the venue. A friend of mine had also ordered a birthday cake from T and E; after having been told several times discreetly that this was meant to be a surprise the server came and asked when the cake should be brought out. This was probably not his fault. I mean how was he meant to be knew that a surprise birthday cake was meant to be a surprise? In terms of the dessert, the cheesecake was palatable but only if you like scrambled eggs for breakfast. I mean dessert. On the positive, the birthday cake itself was in fact, awesome. If you wish to come to T and E I would recommend ordering a birthday cake but making sure it is not meant to be a surprise. There is in fact a patisserie next door to the establishment which does VERY similar cakes which, if seeking to buy cake, you could just cut out the Tom and English man and grab a cake there. Overall I will not be returning.
