Despite being located in a slightly shaded area among a quarter of unassuming restaurants, Kyoto exceeded expectations. The sashimi bento box ($16.50) was outstanding, featuring a variety of sushi, sashimi, gyoza, and rice. We decided to try a bottle of sake and chose one on the more affordable end of the scale ($13.50), which turned out to be absolutely delicious. At $25 per person, the dining experience was not pricier than other sushi spots on the street, but it definitely stood out. Many local diners assured us that the sushi served here was authentic and not overpriced.
A hidden gem! The sushi is consistently amazing, with high-quality fish and superb taste. The exterior may not be impressive, but don't be fooled - this place is a must-try for delicious and flavorful sushi. I highly recommend stopping by!
