My choice was a chicken biryani and it was delicous. It was served with a chapati lid that was a nice touch....The damage Cobra each Lemonade each Chicken tikka Chicken biryani Duck mappas Rice each Chocolate samosa Creme brulee Anjeer falooda Optional service charge
A true brasserie style restaurant serving freshly prepared food for busy people. I liked it here and would always say its a safe place to eat nicely prepared food
My husband and I went to dine there tonight to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary after travelling down from the north east. There were only another two tables in at despite having a pre-theatre dining menu. There was not a great choice on the...menu but we went for the chicken korma and vegetable alternative with poppadoms to start and an accompaniment of peshwari naan. The starter was fine you couldn't really go wrong with poppadoms! The mains arrived before we were finished the starter. Both dishes were totally bland I asked the waiter to confirm that the naan bread was actually peshwari and not plain as there was no taste to it whatsoever. He said it was definitely peshwari but offered to get another one which I gladly accepted as we so much wanted it all to get better! However, I'm afraid it didn't, the replacement came exactly the same as the first but looking a bit more well done and very greasy. We gave up at this stage and just asked for the bill which was which included a bottle of cobra and a glass of chenin blanc. Waiting staff were pleasant and efficient and the surroundings nice, but the food was actually the worst we'd tasted. We have our own pub and restaurant so tend to be a bit more understanding than most of things going wrong, but this was truly pretty grim !
Stumbled on Daawats at Johnstone before going to the Savoy Theatre. What an unexpected find in this part of London, we did not realise that it was part of the Strand Palace until we needed the loos! The atmosphere is not typically Indian, and on...reflection is like many hotel restaurants, but the staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive. The waiter turned the music down when asked without any problem. Whilst not experts in Indian food all four of us thought it was very well cooked, very tasty and nicely presented, the set menu was more than enough. If we are in that area again we would certainly revisit.
This was a great experience the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly We went twice and both times we really enjoyed our meal.
