The Old Boathouse - Cirencester

The food was fantastic and lived up to expectations. However, I was disappointed by the service. My spouse and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at this restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated at a table with only one set of cutlery and no glasses for our drinks, including a bottle of water. The staff seemed disinterested and lacking in enthusiasm. There was a lack of warmth or hospitality from them. When it came time for dessert, we placed our order with one waitress, only to have another waitress come by and try to take our order again. It was frustrating to have to reorder due to a miscommunication. Nobody asked us if we wanted more drinks throughout the meal. It's a pity because the food and decor were beautiful, but our special occasion was dampened by the lackluster service.

The cozy ambiance was lovely, the staff was extremely attentive, and the food was served quickly and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family! We had a great time staying at the hotel and also loved taking a stroll down to the boathouse.

We dined at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and had a very good experience. The location on the lake was beautiful. However, when we visited on a Saturday afternoon, the menu was somewhat strange (for example, you couldn't order an appetizer and a main course) and on the expensive side. The children's meal was excellent for our three-year-old, but the food for adults was just average. The service was also very slow, even though the restaurant was only half full. Overall, we plan on returning for Sunday dinner in the future.

The staff was nice, but the food was moderate and bland (both head and dessert) and was quite expensive. we have eaten here before we know that, although expensive, that would be excellent. very disappointed.

New menu which is better than the last one. Interesting choices and reasonable value, service was excellent and food very good. Would certainly recommend and nice to sit lakeside if weather good. Friends we were with have a small dog which was accommodated in a separate bar area from the main restaurant, Water was provided for the dog too!
