Swampwater Grill - Cincinnati

I visited this restaurant for a birthday lunch and had a wonderful time. However, I found that Google Maps was a bit misleading because of a new fence. Just a tip: make sure to enter from Kellog. The food was delicious! My favorite dish was the Swamp Pasta. I'm not really a fan of the greens, though; they were quite heavy on the vinegar. The service was quick, but it did feel a bit pushy and rushed at times. On the bright side, the atmosphere was enjoyable and fit the theme well.

I promised myself I would never come back, but I feel compelled to leave a review in hopes that things might improve and I can return one day. My last visit was disappointing— I had dry ribs with very little BBQ sauce on the side, nearly frozen cornbread, and cold French fries. The coleslaw was also terrible. I used to love this place. Is there a new owner, or do they just not care anymore?

My husband treated me to dinner for my birthday, and we had a fantastic experience! The fried oysters were amazing, and my husband really enjoyed the étouffée. I also had jambalaya and grits as my sides, both of which were delicious! We started with the gator bites appetizer, which was tasty but a bit on the small side. It came mixed with fried jalapeños, which were also really enjoyable, though we definitely had more jalapeños than gator. I loved the curtains between the booths; they made the space feel cozy and provided a touch of privacy. Overall, it had a fun atmosphere!

We sat at the bar 5 service was great. Unfortunately the food was meh. The chargrilled oysters were salty and tasted odd. I also had the etouffe side dish and it was just ok.

Best place to be! Fabulous food, best people ever. Can’t say a bad thing about this wonderful establishment.
