Forno Osteria - Cincinnati

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The location is perfect with plenty to do nearby. Despite not having a reservation, we only had to wait for 20 minutes. While waiting, we took a stroll in the beautiful neighborhood. There were also a pub, a Mediterranean cafe, and a Thai restaurant next door. Forno has both indoor and outdoor seating with a lovely atmosphere. I was impressed with the Bakestein pizza oven. The host was very accommodating and quickly called us when a table became available. Our server was excellent and very attentive. I started with a margarita and a diet coke. For appetizers, we had the goat cheese and chestnut honey bruschetta, which was amazing. The tagliatelle bolognese was outstanding and the calabrese pizza was also delicious. Every pizza on the menu is a winner. The dining experience was spectacular and I can't wait to bring my mother here soon. I am looking forward to returning.

From the moment we walked in, we found the table to be unpleasant, with too many people crowded together. It reminded me of P.F. Chang's and was quite loud. However, the highlight of the evening was the veal meatball, which was delicious. The service was decent, and we enjoyed the bread with goat cheese and honey. Unfortunately, the dishes we tried were not so great. The black had a weak flavor, and the fish was too thin and drowned in Sicilian sauce. The braised beef short rib was the most well-cooked dish of the night. The meatballs were the standout in the spaghetti dish. The wine selection was good, but the waitstaff seemed a bit too laid back and unsure about the menu. Overall, we found the restaurant and the food to be average, nothing extraordinary. We give it 3 stars. It seems that the kitchen focuses on quickly serving thin, mediocre dishes. We may return to try the pizza and more meatballs.

This restaurant is a lovely, laid-back spot with a cozy atmosphere. The pizza was delicious and served generously. The staff was attentive, making it a great place to have a satisfying meal.
