Palacio ón Balbín Cienfuegos

We met great, friendly, open and helpful people, how luis and eliana made our stay a wonderful experience. the terrace offers the best views over cienfuegos they can have absolutely amazing! the hotel is clean, luxurious but not expensive. luis mixed the best mojito we had on our complete Cuba tour. last but not least: we are really grateful for the interresting, relaxing and great talks we had and wish them all good for the future. we can restart the hotel defenately. thanks for the great time! greet from Germany.

An eccentric yet superb palace with great rooftop views and Pina coladas!

Fabulous old world elegance. Treat yourself and stay.

It is a well restored historic building with friendly and helpful staff. there is even a friendly hotel dog called negri in the outside terrace. the breakfast is excellent: eggs, ham, cheese, pancakes with honey, many local fruits, coffee and guaya juice. the place we had was back. charmingly appointed in retro style. the shower was however over an antique bath and had no curtain or shower screen so that shower was a bit creepy with water splashing over the bath. a toilet seat would have been very welcome according to my other half. in the evening we can go to the semi-finished roof terrace to enjoy a magnificent view of cienfuegos and sunset. I liked cienfuegos more than havanna, because the people proud of the walks in front of their houses and kept them neat and clean, and the main square is beautiful.

The palacio barón balbín, although it was partially built during my visit, is a very impressive building, which represents the former rich when the sugar cane industry was at its first time. the beautiful restoration held all beautiful small parts from colonial time as original furniture combined with a modern standard. the view from the tower is simply fantastic, it is the best view over cienfuegos that they can get. the staff is very friendly, especially eliana, the manager and luis, mixing the delicious cocktails. they gave some very helpful hints where to go and what you see in the city. it was a great stay! highly recommended!
