Nico's Steak Chop House - Chula Vista

Nice place, loved the bar area. However, the service was really bad. Dirty glasses, no serving equipment for our sides and our steaks were not cooked as desired. Very nice place for such a reliable service.

I loved this place. It has a warm welcoming facility, the bar is nice and fully in stock. I had the best vodka Martini there. And believe me that it's hard to find someone who makes a Martini my wishes. My waitress Serena was a real pleasure. The food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to do it.

Let's just say nicos has a lot of space for improvements. they are new, so I hope they just try to get it right and I went a little too early. I have booked a reservation online, fast and easy, and they sat us within five minutes of our arrival. decor is fabulous! many art deco glass and wood. the bar area opens to a beautiful terrace with fireplaces and upholstered chairs. the service was pretty slow. a starter arrived well before others and was not even completely cooked (how can they undercook suppe? . steaks were tasteful, although I hoped they were a bit juicier. must every dish come with an inconspicuous guide? not even sure what it was, but everyone on our table tasted it and hated it. everything comes a-la-carte, so the price rises, up, up, depending on how “complete” they want to be our meal. three of us have ordered wine glasses and, we say, they were not generous glasses. added, the glass was a bit bigger, but it was hardly 1/3 full. I paid for it? I will try again, but think I will wait a few months until they get together a little more. hopefully I see improvements. as it was, it wasn't worth the price we paid.

We (7 people) visited nicos on Wednesday night. the facility and the feeling of the restaurant are great. drinks were right. the salat (sweden salad) was very good, eating was cooked on request, and the service was attentive. as far as they were a new restaurant, they already seemed to work efficiently. I'm sure they'll get even better with a few more time udder their belts. a total of a 4. I hope they will stop it!

Nico’s is a long time coming for our South Bay neighborhood. The service is excellent. The menu is simple and reasonably priced, yet, interesting with just the right amount of choices. I was there a couple of months ago and had the pork spare ribs-no longer on the menu, please bring them back. Tonight we ate at the bar and had a spinach salad, calamari, and tune tar tare-very good. The food tasted very fresh, and was full of flavor while maintaining simplicity. The drink menu in the bar is very reasonable. For a party of three with about 5 cocktails and four appetizers our bill came to $89 and change. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. The one thing everybody should know about this restaurant is, please leave your babies at home and enjoy a sophisticated night out in the South Bay. Let’s set a precedent and have a place just for us grown ups. Support our local businesses! Go Nico’s!
