Larry's Pit Bbq - Christopher

Now I have never written a bad review for everyone, and after reviewing the reviews and reviews of others (I noticed that a few years old) I am am amazed. I went there yesterday to get for my man and I lunch, as he is not able to eat we use to go there when he was physically in the position and eating well. but the food we were served yesterday was terrible, it cost us almost thirty dollars for both of us and we had to throw away 90% of it. I should have taken it back, but since we live out of town, we did not decide to do that, but I will say we will not go back. they should have been ashamed to serve this kind of food. I sincerely hope they get their act together, as it is certainly hard to find a decent place to eat.

I have been a long-time customer of Larry's. Their food is pretty good and I really don't have any complaints about it. The customer service is appalling though. The owners, who by the way is not Larry anymore, are relatives. They now own it. The all-u-can eat I can understand not getting a to-go box. The take-home cups is ridicules. I've since heard that they are doing them again, but I'm sure you have to ask for them. It won't be volunteered. We went in on a Saturday morning, average business and waited for an hour and our food had still not come. We had to leave for an appointment. Didn't eat. Another day, the waitresses kept ignoring us after we sat down. We waited 15 minutes for them to bring menus. Another family walked in and sat near us, they got menus right away and the waitress took their order, we had still not seen a waitress. They were walking around chatting with customers about local gossip. We left. Since there isn't much choice when it comes to staying in town, we still eat there. But yes, the customer service is awful!!!

I have been a satisfied customer at Larry 's Pit BBQ in CHRISTOPHER for several years. This is in response to the first 3 reviews. #1 The people that own Larry 's in Christopher, do NOT own the Larry 's in Carbondale. Both stores have had SEPERATE owners since the year 2003. Same goes for the Larry 's in DuQuoin also. #2 Concerning the all u can eat catfish .....the menu CLEARLY says no to go boxes on re order 's of catfish I believe it is this way at every other restaurant that I have ever eaten at. #3 Concerning to go cups....the menu CLEARLY says all you can drink in house only ...... this means they will be glad to put your LEFT OVER drink in a to go cup..... but they will not re fill the drink AFTER they put it in the to go cup. That doesn 't seem unfair to me. Just thought I would state the facts. I have always had friendly service at Larry 's in Christopher. The food is great and there is no way you can beat their prices!

We loved the Larry's we had in Carbondale until it shut down without much of a notice! My son had a football game in Benton so we decided to go and eat in Christopher where the food was wonderful! We always order a bit too much and like to take a bit home for our dog. My son had the all you can eat fish which you are not allowed a to go box for. Why couldn't I have a box for my appetizer fries and meat? I have been in the restaurant business for over 16 years and I am still appalled at how that situation was handled. Work on your customer service and maybe you can keep your last store open. I doubt I will ever make the drive to come back after that!

Been going there for years! Always got our drinks to go in big cups, which no problem, UNTIL they decided you could NOT eat inside the restaurant order your drinks to go! Must go to drive up pay extra when a drink comes with your meal. Finally agreed to small to go cups for drinks, but when done eating requested a refil to take medications, was told no refills must buy another drink. Come on how much does it cost for a glass of ice tea!
