Welles Street - Christchurch

Placed on couches instead of at table making it difficult to eat. Very limited menu on the night so we just got bar snacks and had dinner at the restaurant next door.

We really enjoy visiting Welles St and frequent it often. The food options are varied and delicious, with plenty of healthy choices available. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The beer selection is also good. Overall, our experience during our visit at COVID level 2 was positive, but it seems that the effects of COVID are starting to show. We encountered some minor issues with our order this time, such as missing items, but they were quickly resolved and the billing discrepancy was promptly corrected after we noticed it. The menu was noticeably reduced, and the souvlakis were missing their Tabouli, which was disappointing. However, we understand that these shortcomings may be attributed to the current challenges posed by COVID, such as fluctuations in supply and demand and the risk of product loss during lockdowns. We apologize that this review is not as glowing as usual, but we recognize the difficulties you are facing. Keep your heads up, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We are regulars most Friday nights after a long week and they have the light but very tasty type of food I like and great guest beers on tap
