Robert Harris Cafe - Christchurch

I visited R.H. Cafe at 10:30 on a Wednesday for brunch with my partner and some family friends. I ordered the big breakfast. The portion size was decent, but the scrambled eggs were just average and lacked flavor. The highlight of the dish was the hash browns and the tomato chutney sauce. The baked beans were a nice addition to the big breakfast, but the mushrooms were also quite average. Unfortunately, my meal was served warm and quickly turned cold. If I decide to return, I doubt I would order this again. I recommend they serve the food hot and focus on enhancing the flavors of the dishes. As for the atmosphere, I would rate it a 2 out of 5 because there were several flies around our seating area—definitely not what you want when trying to enjoy a meal.

I had one of the worst sausage rolls I've ever tasted. There were only four left on display, and I thought it would be worth trying one. After the first bite, I completely regretted it. The filling was incredibly dry and tasteless, and it was even difficult to cut through with a knife. While I was still there, I was surprised to see them bring out a whole plate of fresh sausage rolls, replacing the last three in the display. I don’t understand why they'd serve old ones to customers when they had freshly made ones available just minutes after my order! This is a place I will never visit again. I absolutely do not recommend it!

The staff are friendly and patient with customers. The coffee is excellent, and I've really enjoyed my experience here.

Coffee was good. But most of our food was cold. I get its busy an all so I didn't bother to complain. On the plus side my little girls chips and chicken was hot.

Apple slice and yougurt was. Nice cold drink. Far too strong
