I think it used to be better kept up before the ownership change last year. We had a private room, which in hindsight was the better option since we later found they’ve had an ongoing bed bug problem in the dormitory. They said they had taken care of it last month, but my partner saw them still although mostly dead why are they not cleaned up? when checking out his accommodations since he was staying longer and switching to the dormitory. They switched him over to a private room after he informed them, which was accommodating of them but they really should take care of the bed bug issue. Also, there were a lot of indiscriminate crumbs and dust next to the bed so much so that they probably just changed the sheets and didn’t vacuum between guests. Despite the significant increase in price for a private room, you still have to pay extra for towels and luggage storage ¥200 each . This all made us realize booking a hotel would have been better…and the same price for cleaner facilities. The young staff are nice and somewhat accommodating, but overall not very helpful/resourceful. Aside from all of this, the location is conveniently located by the Akihabara station quick walk and many bars/eateries are located around the corner. Decide what you may, but I’d steer clear until they clean up their facilities/accommodations!
This hostel was very quaint and stylish. The rooms, beds, showers and facility were very clean. As another reviewer has mentioned there is no kitchen or laundry service, but for the things they do offer, they do very well. I will definitely come back to And.
I stayed in a private room which was clean and the bed was comfortable. You share a bathroom and 2 showers with 4 other rooms. The room had an air purifier and an ÁC/heater. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had some of the best sleep in it. The staff is very friendly and you can leave your luggage for a fee of 200 yen a day. There are no amenities in the room like a kettle or cups to make tea or coffee. I would recommend the hostel consider having these in the private rooms, given that they are a bit more expensive than the dorm and it wouldn’t cost too much to maintain this amenity. There is no access to a kitchen, so you can’t cook or make a coffee. There is no washing machine/ laundry, so you would have to go nearby to a coin laundromat. The location is very good in akihabara, just a 5 min walk to the figure and electronic shops. Overall I’m giving it a 3/5 because they don’t have enough amenities (no kettle, no kitchen, no laundry), but the room is comfortable, staff is friendly and it has a good location.
Honestly a great hostel. Wasn't sure about it at first since it was my first time staying at a hostel, but i genuinely enjoyed my stay here. Plus it's only a stone's throw away from the station and from the Akihabara area, which is a big plus.
Loved this hostel! I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. Clean and quiet. Super friendly staff! Extremely close to Akihabara Station, about a 2 minute walk. Restaurants all around. Convenient! Highly recommend!
