I was in the killawasi lodge and ate most of my meals in quinoa. great eating and great service. they had a menu in English, the breakfast was lovely. coca tee was always available. I could calculate the bill on my room, which was also helpful. I was surprised how large the portions were (and I am an American! . I was definitiw not hungry. also I have made a note to a pisco mad in just every place I went in peru (because they are delicious and I think the best I had during the visit was in quinoa!
Large Peruvian food; also orlando will give them a really good double pisco sour; great view of the colca valley; a little too hot to midday, but breakfast and evening perfect.
We stayed at the hotel Killawasi and had our diner at Quinoa. Nice and very clean restaurant with dedicated staff. I've been disappointed by the Alpaca cooking. Pasta is excellent. They have difficulty to manage timing between the dishes: during the first diner I had my Pisco Sour together with the bottle of wine, the starter (delicious soup) and the Alpaca steak. Other meals were better. Pisco Sour Classic is excellent. Thanks to Jose and Franklin for their dedicated service.
Quinoa is the restaurant of the Killawasi Lodge but is actually worth seeking out on its own. We ate there twice (three times if you include breakfast) and each meal was superb. I had the fettudcini with huarnaci (sp?) sauce and alpaca and the alpaca cheeseburger and my wife had the trout and the the fettucdini with pesto. We were extremely happy with all of them. The breakfast was excellent. Don't miss the quinoa bread - I wish I'd been able to find it elsewhere on our trip!
