Afternoon Tea At Fig - CHIPPING CAMPDEN

We experienced a delay in receiving our order at the restaurant, but the staff made a great effort to make up for the misunderstanding.

I made a reservation for my husband's 60th birthday at the Fig restaurant, specifically requesting a nice table. I called twice to confirm. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was closed for a private function and were seated behind the noisy bar instead. The bartender was throwing empties into a bin, which was very distracting. This was not the experience I had booked or was willing to pay for. We decided to leave without even sitting down. I called the Duty manager, who promised to look into the matter, but I am still waiting for a response.

The restaurant is nice, but quite average. It could definitely use some tender loving care and a fresh coat of paint. I wouldn't personally consider it to be a boutique restaurant.

Our afternoon tea was served in a very cosy quiet area with Xmas background music. The service was excellent and the whole experience was lovely, would recommend it.
