However we stumbled on Risteronte La Chiosa and were so glad we did. The food (fish) is fabulous and as the fish market is opposite as fresh as it gets. Our journey took an hour and a half to get here via lido but we would happily make the trip again just to come back here. A note: glancing through a few of the reviews we noted that the poorer reviews were in regard to (eg) small pasta portions or the lack of vegetable with main courses. This is a restaurant very much in the Italian style and this is how food comes in genuine places so the fault is not with the restaurant but with misinformed clientele. Ignore these comments and the rating should be much higher as a result.
At the canal with a modern touch. Nice food om the plates, but the Spaghetti vongole was served as a very small portion not ok. Give the customers more spaghetti... Our choice was white wine, bueno! The ristorante is a little bit expensive but overall it's ok and have a friendly staff.
Be careful when paying, they are smart They make you pay for things you haven't eaten, the way they tell you I bring you the menu and the way they necessarily want the customer to sit down, they force you to stop
Really nice restaurant with friendly staff on the canal side. Lovely starter, raw fish cuts, one of the nicest starters we have had. Nice mains and nice wine selection. Our waiter was friendly and when he found out that we were Irish he called over one of the other waiters who had previously lived in Ireland for a chat. Very enjoyable experience, a bit like Chioggia itself which is underrated but such good value.
We stepped into this lovely ristorante on Riva Canal Vena by chance and we are very glad that we did. Lorenzo, the Maître welcomed us and placed us outside near the Canal what a romantic spot. We had a lovely dinner featuring an antipasto, secondo and dolce and Lorenzo recommended fine white Italian wines with and without bollicine. As we loved our first dinner La Ciosa very much we decided to return the following night to enjoy the wonderful cuisine and the excellent service. We will be back on our next trip in 2019.
