The first thing I noticed was the nook side room is plain now with white walls. All the color decorations that gave it a New Orleans feel are gone. The menu is very simple as well, but the favorite are still there. The food is still good, but you don't get a muffin or juice anymore with your breakfast.
Not bad. Nothing to write home about. First thing that was offered for breakfast was a ****-Mary so I excepted!
Staff friendly, store clean. Food choice for lunch was tasty. Was going to whine about cost (a bit high), but then reminded myself, this is the new normal for eating out... No 5 stars, this brand did away with what was yummy standard picks to eat. Feel they streamlined the menu to much.
It was a Sunday morning and we showed up with 6 adults and a baby. They were super busy. We were told it would be at least a 30 minute wait. We were paged in less than 15 minutes. We were waited on promptly and the food was excellent. There wasn't a problem with anyone's breakfast.
I tried the waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, and while the bread was a bit soggy, it was still tasty. The Mac n Chicken, on the other hand, was just average; it was dry and lacked flavor. Typically, the service is excellent, but our server brought our food and didn't check on us again until just moments before bringing the check. Overall, I still enjoy Mimi's and plan to keep coming back.
