However, it tested like the soymilk was burnt. The crazy thing was that they CHARGE $2 to have a TOAST CUT IN HALF!! That is bizarre. Other places always cut their sandwiches in half or allow it cut without any additional charge. The LADY who I assume is the OWNER has a white Tesla with the license plate LUXBOSS on it parks in front of her store and is VERY RUDE!! A women with 2 little girls ordered on the kiosk and requested to have a drink split in half. The LADY OWNER said they would be able to for ADDITIONAL CHARGE!! EVERYTHING here is an ADDITIONAL CHARGE for the smallest things. The service and owner here is TERRIBLE and a RIP OFF. The food is decent, but overpriced. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND and WILL NOT COME BACK. If your looking for an authentic Taiwanese place, I recommend Yi Mei. The food is similar, better, and the price is decent.
There's a big problem here but it isn't the food. Went here off a great recommendation from my brother. Got the house bbq pork egg pancake and pork belly rice. Both were good, but the pancake was more special and not something you'd usually get at other Taiwanese breakfast places. The pork belly rice was fine, but for $15 the portion was small, only 3 pieces of pork. For $8 I thought the pancake was a much better deal. But the problem here is the ownership. Another party in the restaurant just asked to get their sandwich cut in half. The co owner was speaking to them and said that they would have to re order the sandwich on the kiosk and note there that they wanted it cut in half. But here's the worst part they would charge $2 for it!!! Are u insane?? When the customers showed polite disbelief, the owner suggested they could just cut it themselves. Wow.But it gets worse. A mom with 2 kids comes in and asks to order. The other employee says to order on the kiosk, that they don't physically take orders at the desk. I also encountered this when walking in, as the owner was there but then walked away. Though rude, I quickly realized they are doing the kiosk thing, no human ordering. So anyway, the mom says she'd like to make a few changes to the order, but then the employee insists she has to do it on the kiosk. The bad part comes when the owner comes over and starts telling her how much extra these things will cost. I didn't hear everything, but I know the mom was not happy about having to pay extra as these are all things that other places accommodate without extra charge, such as an extra cup. This set the mom off, and the owner was not backing down. Also pretty uncomfortable for the rest of us as this is a small establishment. This place has potential, but with an owner with a bad attitude who literally parks her white Tesla right in front of the store with LUXBOSS on the license plate, we're not coming back. We might try the Tustin location, but every time I've been it's closed since both locations close around 3 PM every day.
The BBQ sandwich was delicious and it’s amazing to find egg pancake cooked in a traditional way. However, the drink has less milk flavor which I don’t like that much.
We ordered on their website and went inside to pick the food up. I received the text that the food was ready for pick up earlier than expected. I walked in and noticed that it was a small but packed store, so I had a feeling the food would be good. We got the house bbq pork egg pancake and the black pepper beef toast. Unfortunately, their bao was out of stock otherwise I would have ordered that as well. This was our first time having Taiwanese breakfast, so I can't speak to the authenticity of it, but flavor wise, it was very delicious! I would definitely order food here again.
Vegetarian here! 3.5/5 stars, rounding down due to several factors--slower service, overly sweet soy sauce glaze for the egg pancakes, and the mediocre bento box The food:L'uxsweet is probably best known for their Taiwanese style egg pancakes 蛋餅 , which is made fresh per order! The texture of the egg pancakes are a bit bouncy QQ and soft, opposed to a crispy/flakey skin. It comes with lightly pickled sliced cucumbers not sour , and a sweet soy sauce glaze. Personally, I found the glaze way too sweet, and I think it would be much more tasty with a savory flavor. You can customize the egg pancakes to include different meats, basil, cheese, etc. They also have a series of bento dishes, toast/sandwiches, gyozas, and drinks. I have tried the Tustin location before and I preferred it more than this Chino Hills location. My friends ordered various egg pancakes, drinks, gyozas, and two different bento boxes that they definitely regretted ordering . There's compact parking in a spacious plaza, clean bathrooms, and a kiosk to self order. There's seating indoors but slightly limited, so I'd caution against bringing a huge party.
