We stopped in to the Garrison Bistro for a quick lunch. We were surprised to find that, even with a limited bistro menu, we both found something we wanted to try. We ordered the beef brisket poutine, the berry salad, and the Garrison burger with the soup du jour, spinach palak. The burger was on-par with other good pub-sized burgers we'd had, but the berry salad, literally bursting with fresh berries and almonds, and topped with a light tasty vinaigrette, and the spinach palak soup, well, we were fighting over them! The poutine also was a meal in itself - it was listed as an appetizer, but it really could stand as a main. Now we have to go back for dinner.

Went looking for a local patio restaurant today and ended up at Garrison Birstro. Nice noon sun. Not too busy. Had the salmon blt and an apple cider. Great start to the summer.
