Izakaya Ichiban - Chico

Run by the same people as Big Tuna, similarly excellent quality of food, atmosphere, and service. Great sushi, I am always comfortable ordering omakase. Their starter menu has a number of excellent and interesting dishes, and they have creative specials as well. Their accommodations are nice. They'd have an excellent outside area if it weren't for very uncomfortable patio furniture.

I don't understand why people are complaining about service? We have always had amazing service there and they work as a team so a lot of times you'll get two or three waiters throughout your service. The is sushi always taste amazing and is always on point. Presentation is beautiful and their menu selection is awesome. If you ever are with a friend or family member who doesn't eat fish, the vegetarian chef's selection is always amazing no matter what they choose and the sushi tacos crab or tuna are both really really good. They were also amazingly accommodating to our large group and the children who did not want to sit still. We can't say enough great things!

Inexpensive and super tasty. Best deal are their sushi tacos. I don’t eat them anymore because of gluten sensitivity but they do have tamari soy sauce and that’s a huge bonus! I love their Hawaiian roll and I add spicy mayo and can’t beat their albacore sashimi! Wash it down with their cold unfiltered sake.

My wife and I had their Energy roll, Mexican roll and Dragon roll this time, sooooo good... Oh and for an appetizer we each had an order of their Japanese tacos we could have just eaten a plate full of those and been in nirvana!

Had dinner here tonight and everything was awesome! We sat at the bar and Ryan was our server. Great food and service. Thank you so much!
