Lucky Star Beach Shack - Chicalim

We visited this restaurant in April and found it to be an average beach shack. The WiFi and service were good, and the beds had towels, which was a plus. The toilets were just okay. The food was decent, but Baga beach was not clean, with a lot of rubbish on the sand. We also found a broken bottle in the water. We caution against the water sports sales near Lucky Star, as they misled us on options for parasailing and overcharged us. The staff were rude and unhelpful. On the return journey from parasailing, the boat stopped and the driver tried to charge us for swimming. We refused and had to wait in the sun until we were allowed back to shore. Lucky Star itself had good service, food, and prices, but we may not return due to the dirty beach.

I only ordered appetizers at Tough, including tikka, nuggets, and Mexican crunchy chicken. The taste was unforgettable and the prices were reasonable. The cocktails were also reasonably priced.

The seafood at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Orders are delivered quickly and if you are dining in a group, the cost per person is lower when you order a variety of dishes. However, if you are a couple, you'll need to choose carefully which dishes to order.

Lucky Star is a regular shack on the Goa beaches. Nothing exceptional with the food and/or drinks. One good thing is their friendly staff. They are associated with the water sports guys as well so you can get a sweet deal while at the shack...itself. But will recommend checking prices with a few people before sealing the deal. Water Sport can be expensive in season time.

This was a very bad start to an otherwise wonderful holiday. Although the shack looked very inviting at first we were soon regretting our decision to eat here. We ordered Chilly mushroom, chilly baby corn, mixed seafood platter and drinks. The chilly mushroom was nice,...the chilly baby corn very bland as was the mixed seafood platter. The calamari was way over cooked, the prawns were tiny, the fish wasn't fresh and the fries cold. We asked for some chilly sauce hoping it'll help us finish off the tasteless food, the waiter came back mins. later with a bowl of hot water with a few chillies in it. We asked him what it was and he said its hot chilly sauce/soup We paid our bill asap and left half hungry.
