Yolk - Chicago

Was hoping for a 5 star review from what we heard from others. Food was good, service was good, coffee was good. No complaints, just not at 5 stars. You will enjoy it.

Update Sep-2021: My wife and I have become regulars at Yolk Lakeview. The service and food quality hold up every time. I would rate them 6 stars without a doubt! Original review, May-2021: My wife and I are new to the Lakeview area. We walked into this Yolk location for the first time and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and a very friendly service from Rachel, who raised the definition of “welcome” to a whole new level! Delicious food, awesome coffee and just an amazing experience. We will come back for more, for sure!

As an introvert, this isn't a place I can see myself dining in at because of how busy and openly spaced this particular location is, but the food is really good. I got the steak and eggs, and the steak was great, a tiny bit tough in the medallion part. The pancakes were just okay. I was really excited for them but they have a weird side taste that's almost a bit like something that's sugar free or artificially flavored. Also I got over-medium eggs and one was already broken in the to go container. The staff is extremely kind though, and obviously trying their best considering how busy this location seems to be.

Food is good and servers are nice and friendly. The downside is that it takes a while for food to be ready, but it’s worth it!

Anthony at Yolk Lakeview was an outstanding server and host. He was attentive and assisted us in selecting some truly unique and delicious items from the menu. We had a wonderful time during our visit. We highly recommend the breakfast burrito (available with or without chorizo), the breakfast potatoes, and the eggs Benedict. We also loved the chocolate chip pancake. The lattes and matcha were delicious as well.
