Victory Italian River North - Chicago

Great outskirts. Anna, our server was great, like the food!

Your Sicilian chopped salad is the best of any area restaurant offers, and its menu is as diverse as the clientele. The waiting staff is friendly and courteous, sits in moments of your reservation time, and makes every effort to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The only twist of this time was an unconsidered group with a crying infant. Someone in the group should have taken away the child until they were calm, but instead they let it scream and wake up and cause a great disturbance until one and a half hours later when they finally left. The restaurant was in this case guilty as they should intervene and asked to temporarily remove the child.

To begin with, I have been to Victory Italian before and had a fine experience, so hopefully this was an isolated incident. During my most recent meal at Victory Italian, I had a waiter that was so rude he literally made me fear I was in danger (he kept touching my shoulder and back when he spoke to me and acted hostile for no apparent reason). Additionally, we ordered a pepperoni pizza and were given a pizza with no sauce or cheese, just piles of pepperonis and when we mentioned we wanted a pizza with cheese and sauce the waiter told us that this was not how pizza was made and was passive aggressive from that point on. Furthermore, a rude bar back came and took our plates without asking and spilled our silverware on our table without picking it up. An all around upsetting and creepy experience for a restaurant that is fairly expensive.

Giuseppe the server and sommelier was excellent. Ask for him.

There were nine in our party and all really enjoyed our food. We were seated promptly and Dave and the other staff were great. We will return.
