Absolutely fantastic. This is my type of place. Real chill, no need to get dressed up and killer food. Too bad I don’t live there or If make this a regular visit. I had the veggie sampler and everything was great. Well spiced and tasty. They have wonderful hot tea too. I highly recommend this place if your in search of an Ethiopian fix or searching for something new that is well spiced but not spicy. For the prices they charge you can’t go wrong giving it a whirl. Easy five star rating.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had; and with amazing prices. Highly recommend! Get the combo platters. Everything tasted amazingFood: 5/5
Ethiopian food is one of my favorites and this place is one of the best in town. It's a very humble restaurant but the food is very good, affordable, and the service is excellent. I would advise on checking for boneless meat since the ones with the bones were very difficult to eat with the breads. Also, ensuring we communicate our spice tolerance to the waiter can make a huge difference.Vegetarian options: They had a decent amount of very delicious vegetarian options as well. I highly recommend the lentils.
Tesfa Ethiopian Cuisine is a family-owned restaurant located in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. The restaurant has been serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine for over 10 years. The menu features a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes, all of which are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.I had the opportunity to dine at Tesfa recently and I was very impressed with the food and service. I started with the veggie sampler, which comes with five different vegetables: Yemisir (spicy red lentils), Key Sir Alicha (red beets), Gomen (collard greens), Yatakilt (cabbage), and Ater Kik Alicha (yellow lentils). All of the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the flavors were delicious. I also had the Mama's Tea, which was a refreshing and flavorful herbal tea.The injera bread at Tesfa is made fresh daily and it is absolutely delicious. It is a spongy, slightly sour bread that is perfect for scooping up the flavorful stews and vegetables. The staff at Tesfa is very friendly and welcoming. They made me feel like I was part of the family.Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Tesfa Ethiopian Cuisine. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Ethiopian meal.
