Just had an extraordinary six-course feast at Tanta to ring in the New Year! My Uber ride home with my boyfriend sparked a discussion about the best part. Initially torn, I settled on the perfectly cooked scallop, only to rethink and give a shoutout to the leche de Tigre sauce under the tuna in the second course. Crafted with a delicious taste of passion fruit (I think! , it instantly transported me to an unforgettable cooking lesson in Costa Rica a couple years ago. That sauce is pure liquid gold – they should definitely bottle it up!
It's nice but there's no parking in the area really. Valet parking is the best but it took forever for the valet to come around because there was only one guy. The food and drinks were decent and it was nice that they gave us a delicious sorbet for dessert. My only qualm was somehow my order was forgotten. The person I was having brunch with got their starter and so did I however, when their main dish was served I did not get mine. I was sitting there for more than 20 minutes waiting before the server came back around and realized that I had not yet been given my main dish. I didn't like that at all. Everything else was fine.
Food was pretty good, staff didn’t seem very happy to be there and all looked a bit sad. Ambience was a bit strange
Great place to eat something different with a variety of tastes out of the ordinary
