Sunda - Chicago

I've only eaten here during a work lunch. You have a separate vegan menu to ask for. I would just recommend to tell the server that you have an allergy to meat and milk, as they would probably respect that about you say that you are vegan (I know that people had problems with servers in this restaurant that they are experiencing problems over vegan). The food I had during lunch was average quality/taste and I never felt inclined to go back to me for a personal meal. Updated by previous review on 2021-10-21

Had a vegan menu that was beautiful. All I had was good, but it's more expensive than I want. Would rather go to many other Asian places.

I visited for dinner with a few non vegan friends, and the food was good, but not great, and quite expensive; the best element was the very friendly and helpful service. The vegan menu [hidden link] is quite good some appetisers, including edamame and dumplings, vegetables, sushi and salad dishes, and one plate each of rice and noodles for dinner. The food is intended for sharing, so the plates are fairly small for a normal meal you'd probably need about 2 per person; most are around 15 dollars, so the price will be about 30 40 dollars per head.

I went during Sunday brunch time and had the shiitake edamame dumplings, Manchurian cauliflower, vegetable curry, and all three of the signature sushi rolls. The dumplings and cauliflower packed the biggest punch in terms of flavor. The other dishes tasted good, but they weren't anything to write home about. Overall, I always give props to a restaurant the provides a separate vegan menu (bonus points when this is actually on their website and not some cryptic thing you need to be in the know about). That being said, the serving sizes were small for the price and quality of the items and although I appreciated the creativity of the sushi rolls, they all lacked taste over presentation. They are on OpenTable so I made a reservation, but the place was huge so I'm not sure how necessary this really was. The ambiance was great and the staff was friendly. I visited because I knew about the menu and received a gift card, but I don't believe I'd go out of my way to go again unless it was to meet up with some omni friends or give them another shot by trying their dinner menu.
