Shawn Michelle's Homemade Ice Cream

This is the best vegan ice cream I've had in a long time. It was delicious and full of flavor, with a great variety of options to choose from. Shawn Michelle’s is my go-to spot for vegan ice cream in Chicago, especially the vegan mango flavor!

They have an entire vegan menu displayed on the wall, but during my visit, there were no vegan options available.

I had a great experience during my first visit to this restaurant. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived, which was nice! The staff were very patient and immediately explained everything to us. I really appreciate a good discount! We were able to explore all the available flavors (though there wasn't a complete list on display) and even customize our syrup options. I tried the cheesecake ice cream, and it was creamy and rich—absolutely delightful! I even took a couple of scoops home, and it tasted even better the next day! We also sampled the warm caramel rum cake, which was delicious, though a bit crispy on the outside. I can't wait to go back for the banana pudding ice cream! You should definitely give it a try because one treat just isn't enough!

What a charming little spot! The butter pecan ice cream was absolutely divine—truly delicious! However, the girl behind the counter today seemed to dislike her job and everyone in the shop. It’s disappointing, considering how lovely the place is. While they had a nice variety of flavors on display, the overall ambiance was beautiful. It might be better for her to work with stock rather than customer service, as some people just aren’t suited for that role. Just a heads up: their hours on Google don’t match their actual opening times.
