Rio's D'Sudamerica - Chicago

I had a fantastic dining experience at this charming family-owned restaurant. The food was delicious, and the drinks were generally good, although their martini could use some improvement. The restaurant had an elegant ambiance with white tablecloths and lovely wall paintings. It was a pleasant place to dine, and I found it to be a great value. The steak was exceptionally tender and cooked to perfection.

When we walk into the restaurant the servers were talking to each other and took them a couple of minutes to acknowledge us. Then I ordered a medium well cook New York stake and they served me a stake that was rare, almost raw.

Food was incredible and waitress was very nice. Restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night which was surprising given the awesome food. If you have not tried Peruvian food this place is a must!

The restaurant has plenty of space to accommodate large groups. The food was tasty with generous portions - we had to take half of it home. The crab and shrimp appetizer was exceptional. I can see why this restaurant has been around for so long - the service was excellent as well (even though we caught them during a lull in business). The Sunday buffet seems like something worth returning for. Don't let the dark appearance deter you from dining here.
