Portillo's Chicago (addison)

I was disappointed to find that nowhere on their website or elsewhere is it mentioned that they are a BYOB restaurant. My companion couldn't walk and I had to go get something on my own, which felt uncomfortable as a solo female in an unfamiliar area. The waiter was unapologetic about the situation and even directed me to the wrong store! Since we had taken an Uber, I had to walk to find a place. I’m not necessarily an alcoholic, but I do enjoy having wine with dinner when I'm with friends!

Made reservation for 9:45. When I arrived, was told they closed at 10:00 and I could not dine in. So I left and went elsewhere. They need to adjust their hours of operation on Open Table.

This is the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had! You have to order it—trust me on this. The sushi and maki were excellent as well. As for the Thai dishes, like pad Thai and pad see ew, they were good, but not outstanding. The restaurant is BYOB, which is a nice touch. The ambiance is a bit on the divey side, but the food more than makes up for it.

Service wasn’t great this time around. As well as the rolls. Maybe we got them on a bad night

The food was excellent, as always! The Spicy Tuna Maki is our favorite dish.
