Mima's Taste Of Cuba - Chicago

I went to this place with my whole family, we came from Orlando to have a great time, get to know the city and of course to eat, and we are demanding, yes, and you know what? We were happy not only for the food but also for the good vibes, the friendly and attentive nature of all the staff, we liked everything, the empanadas, the sandwiches, oh and the drinks!! The best, if you want to have a fun time and be treated like someone they have known for a long time, this is the place for you and the whole family.

My dad and I visited Mima’s with high expectations we both love Cuban food and had seen so many positive reviews, but we had a disappointing experience. My dad ordered a media noche which arrived burnt. I still can’t believe that both the cook and the waiter would think it’s OK to serve the sandwich all burnt. Thankfully, they replaced it and my dad thought it was just alright. I had a steak jibarito which was very tasty and probably the highlight of our meal. The croquetas were hot, but I was surprised to see them served with a sauce as no sauce is necessary to enjoy a good croqueta. The maduros unfortunately were the most disappointing. They weren't sweet at all and the large thick pieces made them difficult to enjoy. Customer service is just average. Extra charge if you pay with credit card. Limited parking.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The music was also fantastic. Overall, we had a fantastic lunch!

A hit, not a miss! Great food and atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

Staff was attentive and quick. Although they didn't seem to have a proper server lay out. But with so few seating options I don't knock them for it. The music and atmosphere where awesome and colorful. The food was very good inhad just a standard Cuban sandwich. But was still delicious. Would recommend for a quick bite.
