It’s such a fun place and you feel safe and surrounded by people who just want dine and shop and carry on.I really wanted to give this place 5 stars considering it’s a Michelin rated restaurant. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable considering it’s a Michelin establishment. We had their famous spicy noodles which ended up just being too oily for us to finish. The shrimp dish we had was good but nothing fancy. We ordered their fish in clay pot and it was really spicy . However the rib-eye steak was a perfect 5 star. Outstanding and the presentation was wicked awesome.I docked it a star because the service was ok and we were put into a corner where dish-ware and knickknacks on a shelf were above our head. Felt like we were in a closet. They need to improve their seating and simply take better control of their reservation setup. I would happily pay more for better service and seating.Parking: Parking is pretty bad and I had to park 4-5 blocks away.
I went this location on 8/12/2023, I love visiting Chinatown and this restaurant. This is maybe my second time visiting. I'm able to order a lot of different food items at a decent price. Each time I have always have amazing custom services. Usually there is a wait time but this time I was able to be seated right away. I would definitely recommend all this time restaurant. They are known for their award and quality of food. I will definitely keep coming.
Delicious! Seating downstairs looked a little cramped and busy, but we had a party of 6 and dined upstairs around a larger table that was perfect for sharing. Great portions and quality, especially for the price. The crispy shrimp with peach (also available with mango) was an interesting riff on the more common honey walnut shrimp. The wonton soup broth had a strong flavor from the green onion and made for a refreshing option between dishes. One of the overall favorite dishes was the honey black pepper chicken with bell peppers. We also loved the pig oil noodles. The only downside to the atmosphere was the volume upstairs; loud music was playing (with karaoke videos/lyrics if you wanted to sing along too) and it was sometimes hard to hear other friends across the table. We asked for the music to be lowered a little and our secret obliged.I'd happily return, and hopefully with a large group again so we can enjoy the extra space upstairs.Dietary restrictions: One person in my group had a lot of allergies and our server went in-depth to make sure that she could safely enjoy her dish. Cross-contamination is always a possibility (and we were warned about this too) but my friend's sensitivities luckily aren't that severe.Another group member asked for 2 ingredients to be omitted and it wasn't a problem.
This is one of our favorite Chicago Chinatown restaurants. Recommend the Honey Black Pepper Beef and the Chef's Signature Stir Fry chicken. Service is good overall and food comes out relatively quickly. Tight spacing in between tables is the only negative but other than that its a great time here. Classic chinese dishes but with lots of good spicy options. Also try the Chen Du Spicy Dumplings for appetizers and spicy fried shrimp!
Great place for spicy stir fry. This time I had the Chef Special Stir Fry Chicken, Honey Black Pepper Flank Steak, and Cheng Du Spicy dumplings. All were really tasty and our waiter gave us excellent recommendations. On a previous trip I had the Signature Dry Chili Chicken and although very spicy was very good.Food: 5/5
