Nice ambience, pretty good service. But the food was a great disappointment. They recently reopened and I guess they couldn't set up their kitchen yet. Most foods were not available for dinner and whatever we had ordered seemed made out of the remains. The chicken was extremely overcooked and metered in vinegar. The vegetarian duck was also overcooked and was different from the description in the menu.
Best place in the West Loop for traditional authentic Indian cuisine. Recipes taste aromas as if they were passed on from the past of the generation. Waiting staff managers are very nice accommodation, will definitely be back for my 6th time this summer. :
I had been to this restaurant previously many times and used to be a regular customer despite the serve being at times incredibly slow because it was close and the food was good but had only interacted with one of the owners. The other owner was so disrespectful along with the bartender. They actually cursed at us which is inexcusable. They quickly denied doing so when onlookers on Thur busy west Randolph street began to stare at them though the busy boy who was the only one polite enough to apologize and onlookers on the street along with the two of us had heard them. They tried to tell us we had to leave with no warning that we are shutting down we will give you five minutes to finish the drinks you still have. We just asked for a few minutes or a return or the drinks and of course basic kindness and politeness. Then we were told they would call the politics on us. Which they did not do because what could they call the police for everyone on the street saw that we did nothing wrong to deserve third rudeness. I am not sure if we treated so badly because we look different and dared to ask them for a few minutes or at least to not be rude after a tip that was over 20 percent for a 150 dollar meal. Our date was ruined. This is 2020 and the service industry is about politeness and service. Not to mention regular business is hard to come by in COVID times. Because it was one of the owners I am pretty sure nothing will be done but customers should know as should others owners and investors. Thank you for your time.
Delicious, fresh, and flavorful Indian Cuisine! Both my dinner partner and I enjoyed the recommendations made by the waiter. The fried chicken appetizer was sweet, tangy, tender, and saucy. It reminded me of flavors similar to Chinese Sesame Chicken, without the sesame. The rice puff salad was light and refreshing. It was reminiscent of salsa tossed with light crunchies from fried chips and rice puffs. The lamb chop was cooked to perfection; however, a mint yogurt sauce was missing this time compared to our last visit. The only drawback we had was the vindaloo sauce came out not as tight and spicy as I remembered it should taste. It reminded me of a marinara sauce lightly seasoned with hints of curry flavor. Next time, we will try asking for a more robust curry. The restaurant now serves alcohol. The cocktails were strong, balanced and delicious. One minor service recommendation, try spacing out the appetizers and dinner in accordance with drinks served. Ours cocktail came near the end of our third appetizer. The bottle of wine was served near the end of our meal. Overall, this is my favorite Indian Restaurant in the vicinity.
