Decent for lunch if you're craving pizza but wouldn't plan on it for dinner. The pizza in general is mediocre and reminds me of a Jacks or Palermos frozen pizza (which I love . Service is great place is clear.
I live in humble park II used to come to the beach on Montrose first place I stop this pizza. This place is the best food in the bus plays to buy pizza. I move into alcohol and that's the place where I buy my pizza anybody that talks about this place sure enough they're not from Chicago.
Three highest rating I generally give fast food is three stars. That being said, Gigio's is one of Chicago's best thin crust pizza.Get the sausage.I know it's Brooklyn style but it has been here over 50 years so I can call it a Chicago staple.I believe ownership has changed hands multiple times but the flavor is about 80-85% the same.In the old days they used to make their own sausage, I do not know if they still do but the sausage is a little bit sweeter and not as much spice. The tomato sauce is also a little sweeter these days too, and plain (lacking oregano). But in context of only now, it is still the best thin crust you can get in Chicago. Armand's on Western is it's only competitor. It is a hole in the wall (dive) and the service is nothing to write gone about, but the pizza is that good, that I give it a high three stars
Love the pizza slices! Delicious and very close to a Ray's slice in NYC. Have a paper towel ready!
