City Winery Chicago

Food was awful. Fries were chewy and unseasoned. I found the menu just lacking in options. Nice space and music. Extremely slow service both times I've visited. The wine was truly awful so I opted for a mixed drink which was good but for $16.50 for a shot I'll pass. I'd go back to hear the music but make sure I've already eaten and get liquored up ahead of time. Bathroom was clean.

Loved the idea of the venue. Musiq Soulchild was wonderful The photo posted of the spacious dining room is not the concert venue The place was totally over packed. You could not even pull your chair out without locking into the one next to you. You were literally touching the hip of the person next to you. We were at a 4 top but 2 others no showed. This is how close it was. The only reason there is any space is because I asked for the extra chairs to be taken away. Fine if you are with that person on a date , not if it’s some stranger. Totally a fire trap. No way people get out safely in an emergency. The food was not good. These Truffle fries were $11. They were unsalted and obviously refried. The lady next to me returned her order only to get something else she didn’t like. The sangria is delicious. The wait for food and drinks was ridiculously long 20+ min. I had to go track the waiter down to order food and drinks. By the time they came the show was over. Here I am with a full drink house lights up and staff bumping into the back of my chair because they want to go home. I love the idea of a small venue concert. But clearly the point here was not to create an experience, just simply to get your money.

Great show. My friend plays guitar with Switch. Great evening. The food selection is suspect. Everything else ie good.

Nice intimate venue. Loved my tickets because I was right at the stage and it felt like I was a part of the show. The food was pricey but good and I’d most likely do it again. Was able to meet some very nice people sitting with us at the table.

I would like to mentioned it was freezing in there, I had to turn on my car heater once I left. The tables are also very small, the person next to me kelp bumping me then completing rammed her chair into mine to get something off the floor. Also the server stopped by the first five minutes I sat down which was fine because you get to see the menu before arriving however, she didn't come back around until about 30-40 minutes later. The show itself was amazing and I would return but I will definitely sit some place else, bring a sweater, and know what I want ahead of time.
