Inside, it was clean but quite small and very simple, featuring a serving area in front and tables in the back. The person running the place (whether staff or owner, I’m not sure) was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when he realized I was a first-time visitor. He generously offered me a taste of almost everything he had, including roasted chicken, beef stew (suqaar), a bean dish, and slightly cooked cabbage/vegetable mix—all served over a mound of slightly spicy rice. The portion was huge, and everything was delicious. You definitely wouldn’t leave hungry! He checked in with me before I left to see if I enjoyed the meal and seemed genuinely interested in my response. While I was there, I also heard that their breakfast is quite popular, featuring traditional Somali stews served with flatbread. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in town!

I tried the roasted chicken, a beef dish called suqaar, a bean stew, and some lightly cooked cabbage and vegetables, all served over a mound of slightly spicy rice. It was a generous portion—about two liters—and everything was delicious. You definitely won’t leave feeling hungry! Before I left, he checked in to see how I liked the food and genuinely seemed interested in my response. While I was there, I also overheard that their breakfast is quite good, featuring traditional Somali stews served with flatbread. I will definitely return when I’m back in town!

If it weren't for the challenging parking situation, this place would truly be a hidden gem. They offer a wide variety of delicious East African dishes at amazing prices. If you’re hesitant about visiting for the first time, don’t be – you’ll receive a warm welcome and a thorough explanation of the menu options. The friendly atmosphere and affordable prices make Bulsho one of my favorite spots in Chicago!

Best Indian cuisine je! attentive waiter recommended various dishes; cries! huge portions. the restaurant, just a few steps away from magnificent mile, on a walton. yum!

Looks simple, but this is is delicious homey style food. Also very good portions.
