Big Star Wrigleyville - Chicago

Fantastic service, location, and tacos! I give it 5 stars for the service, and our server, Preston, was exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. We visited after the Cubs game for dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful, the restaurant was spotless, and the food was just as amazing as at their Bucktown location. Well done, Big Star! Food rating: 5/5.

I made reservations to eat before heading to a Cubs game. Unfortunately, our waitress seemed uninterested in providing good service; she didn't even bring us water until much later. On the plus side, the food arrived very quickly (but it wasn't brought out by her). In fact, we finished our meals before ever receiving our water and drinks. The food was a great quick option before the game, and the tacos were really tasty. However, the service from our waitress was quite disappointing.

On Friday during the day, the area upstairs near the bathroom was very wet, and there were no caution signs indicating the hazard. I slipped and fell on both knees, and the manager on duty was quite unsympathetic and rude. Instead of offering assistance, she coldly asked, “What do you want me to do? Do you need an ambulance?” As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I find this approach to handling such situations unacceptable. I understand that things can get busy, but she then asked security to escort us out simply because she was annoyed. Interestingly, the security personnel didn't want to mention her name. The manager in question was the only female on duty, with short dark hair.

Great place to eat at conveniently located in front of Wrigley Field. Food came out very fast. Service was nice. Only thing is that the tacos are priced a little high for the size in my opinion. I got nachos split between 4 of us, plus 3 tacos and that was enough to fill me up. If you have no nachos, I would recommend 4 or even 5 tacos- they’re not too big. I got Pollo, Al Pastor, and Barbacoa. Pollo was the best by far- highly recommend any of the 3 though. Overall great experience!

I spent nearly $300 and the bartenders somehow gave away my credit card to someone else. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Do better.
