Adams Street Brewery The Berghoff

We stopped in after shopping and the place wasn’t overly busy as it was between lunch and dinner. We sat down to have a few beers near the bar. No one came to wait on us so I went to the bar and the bartender said I had to go to the center of the bar to get served. Which was fine. I stood there with my credit card while that same bartender and the other one walked past me 3-4 times. Was fairly certain they saw me. They were not super busy so not sure what the problem was? When I went to get my partner to leave because I never got served….one of the waitstaff apologized for poor service instead of helping us. Definitely not stopping there again.

Lives up to European style formats, particularly the pilsner.

Wish I would've got pictures of how beautiful the inside of this place was. Our flights of beer were very tasty, it was a hopping Friday night. Service was very attentive.

Favorite brewery in Chi-town, hands down. Their selections are unmatched.

This is the in-house brewery for Chicago’s famous Berghoff Restaurant. Food is still excellent; usual German favorites plus seafood, pastas, etc. The schnitzel was very good and the creamed spinach alone worth the trip. The beers, which I found excellent on previous visits, were iffy. Lager was cloudy and had none of the malt that for years characterized Berghoff brews. The dark was served far too cold for a craft brew.
