Batien Vegetarian - Chiayi City

All-vegetarian restaurant with lots of options. The menu is only in Mandarin, but staff will help recommend some options. My partner and I shared the aubergine curry and chicken curry, both of which were delicious. The aubergine was particularly good. Close to Chiayi Station, and very well priced.

Be sure to arrive an hour before closing time. The first time I tried to go at 7:45 (45 minutes before closing), they wouldn't let me in because it was too late. However, the next night I tried the bibimbap, which was amazing. The day after, I had the Thai noodles which were just okay, not very spicy or flavorful. Meals range from $160 to $200 each and the staff is helpful because the menu is not in English.

This cozy restaurant offers a variety of dishes to choose from. I opted for the bibimbap, which was very tasty. They were accommodating to my request to remove the egg and cheese. The prices were fair and the staff was very friendly. However, it is worth noting that the menu is only available in Chinese.

I agree with previous reviews that there is no English menu, but with the assistance of the staff, I was able to enjoy a delicious meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

In this small restaurant there is a nice selection of dressed. I chose the bibimbap that was delicious. they offered the opportunity to leave the ice and the cheese. the prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. the menu is only in Chinese.
