Gran Caffé Defilla - CHIAVARI

The first day we walked in for our morning coffee and tea. This is a Gran(d) Caffe like they should be. You can sit outside for a drink, but please: Have a look inside. The old grandeur is preserved. Candy, chocolate, an amazing drinks collection. Even as an adult you feel like a kid in a candy store. The aperativo in the afternoon was amazing too. After ordering two Spritz we received a table full of goodness. Fries, chips, olives, cheese, vegetable cuts, and local savoury pastries. Have a laugh with the locals and visit this place if you get the chance.

I visited this café 13 years ago while attending a week long culinary training program. We all had an amazing time! But, this place, and its staff was simply our favorite!!! Luigi, who served us then, is still there! That says something about the people and this place. If you happen to find yourself in Chiavari and want a drink, stop by…you won’t be disappointed. OOOHHHHH….. and the snacks they give you…mama Mia!!! The hot fresh French fries are incredible!!! You’re welcome!

A magical place, by now I stopped counting the number of times when I had the pleasure of eating or eating here. absolutely my favorite place in the area, elsewhere I can find this kindness and care in the details. without talking about the goodness of the dishes that change every day (absolutely not trivial) and the choice of wines. I have come both in couple and with friends and the experience has always been impeccable. recommended recommended
